Life in Sangikyo

The Challenge of Working at Sangikyo

Sangikyo is looking for independent-minded and creative new employees. Times have changed and Sangikyo recognizes that its young employees are its future. For that reason, younger employees are given greater freedom, than is usually the case in a Japanese company, to develop themselves and run their own projects. It is Sangikyo's philosophy, that its employees must take the initiative to shape their own opportunities. And being a medium-sized company it has the capacity to help them do this.

Opportunity
Work is work, but Sangikyo makes every effort to help employees to also realize their dreams. It provides employees with training programs, technical and language courses, and other opportunities for improving their skills. In addition, outside training is also required for the many systems Sangikyo is using in conjunction with partners.

Team Work
Cross-cutting, cross-discipline teams are at the heart of Sangikyo's competitiveness strategy. On the one hand they break down barriers to traditional ways of doing business. They also allow for the matching of diverse skills. Most important, teams provide an effective way to develop new business projects and respond quickly to customer needs. It is through sharing knowledge and skills, that Sangikyo employees both enhance their own careers and also contribute to Sangikyo's success.

Non-Japanese Employees
Sangikyo's business is global and our workforce reflects that: we now have employees from the United States, China, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Libya, Australia, and Mexico. Also, most of our senior staff are fluent in English. Sangikyo encourages foreign nationals interested in a career with a Japanese firm to contact us directly at : Recruit@sangikyo.co.jp

The comments below are from two current Sangikyo employees. Hopefully, they will give you a flavor of what it is like to work at Sangikyo.

Mr. Souta Yamamura in the IT engine department
I am working in the IT engine department. We manage and maintain the Sangikyo network, user account, email account, and so on. We also update the Sangikyo homepage.
My main responsibility is the “HELP DESK”, which provides assistance to PC’s and Server’s trouble shooting. The failure to connect to the network or to the Internet is one of the main problems that arise from users. However, the range of one trouble is very wide. Thus, a broad range of knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge is required. Needless to say that I need more IT skills and knowledge!

I first heard of Sangikyo when I attended the 2002 Career Forum in San Francisco. I was majoring in Computer Science at a college in California, and I was interested in the networking field. I received an interview there with one of the Sangikyo employees and I got interested in this company. I thought Sangikyo could fulfill what I wanted to do.

One of the reasons I was impressed by Sangikyo was learning business skills at the company’s business seminar in spring 2003. The seminar is conducted by a lecturer belonging to a department in our company, and is also a specialist in specific business areas. I had a very good experience in the class, and had learned useful business skills. In addition, Sangikyo possesses a good education system, providing weekly classes such as English and CCNA.

The environment of Sangikyo is very nice. People who work here are friendly so it didn’t take much for me to be frank with them. Moreover, this is a workplace where an employee can express an opinion freely. So bring your own unique ideas with you for there is always chance to change the future of this company with your ideas!
